A 399 cc parallel twin from Kawasaki's Vulcan 400 family, a cruiser-style middleweight with a belt final drive and a drum at the rear. It used a carburettor rather than fuel injection and a conventional forks-and-dual-shocks chassis. It was sold as an easy-going beginner and commuter machine.
